I have a chance to buy a gt45 turbo from a friend for 300bucks. What I need to know is, will the turbo support 650-800 horsepower? And, will it support it to 6500. It will be going on a forged 346 or a forged stock crank ls2. Or is it too big?

yes-

a gt45 is bigger then a gt42=yes-gt42 is rated at 850-950 -1000 hp tops-

so a 45 is 75-100 hp more-

it also depends on the a.r also-

pm drturbo has those guys sell them for a living-

from joining the website i have seen a lot of people talk about the gt42 or gt45-stating that they are knowed to cause back pressure problems-

maybe search that kind of thread- but i dont know which turbo cause the back pressure debate but was 1 of them-

that i can't answer as i dont have the know how-but some of the turbo sellers and big time users will chime in-

i am only going by what some of the turbo websites say it will support in hp wise-

well the web site says it will support 1000 hp on a 3-8L v6 or v8.
