Default Any room for pillar gauges with a Wolfe 10 point cage?

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I think most people who would respond to this question would be in this section…

I’m looking at getting a cage for my car. All my buddies are telling me I should get a 10 point instead of a 6 point. I have a triple gauge pillar pod and I was wondering if the cage would interfere with it? Anyone know? If it does fit, does anyone have pictures of theirs they could share?

It does not fit. You just get the cage pods.

I tried them. No luck. I did find a dual "universal fit" pod there, but I need a triple pod...

They're individual pods. You can get them for 1 1/2, 1 5/8, or 1 3/4 diameter cages. $32.95 each. I don't think anyone makes one that has all three formed together.

That does me no good. My gauges are 2 1/16" I think I am just going to get a 6 point cage for now.

deadman is talking about the size of the roll cage tubing. You can get any size you want. Heres a link

I hate these. I have them in my car. They're pretty chinsy.

Thanks for the pic ninetres. That sure looks like a lot of gap between the pillar and the cage! You sure there is no room for these gauges?

i know if ya heat up the gauge pod you can mold it to fit just about anything. how bout getting a smaller one for another vehicle and moulding it to fit around the roll bar itself???

It would be cool if someone made a dash pod that would have three or four gauge pods molded into the dash piece on the top... That piece is easily removable on the firebirds.

Head over to a shop that deals in custom mandrel bent & dom cages. They should be able to work around this with no problem. If you do go with the wolf set up, just have them bend the driver side hoop, to fit around the piller pod. Would not take much at all if they have the wolf hoop to work off of with a starting and ending points.

I see it done all the time at my local shop. Which deals in high end mandrel bent and dom bent cages.

You know how pics are kinda deceiving. There is definitely no room for the pillar with the wolfe 10 pt.

Yea, no way you can use a pillar pod with the wolfe, its made to hug that pillar pretty tight. If you have a custom cage made then you can use one, seen them on several 4th gens.

Go custom, and have the guy tig a couple small tabs on the pillar bar and put your guages in cups and mount them to the tabs.....

There's always putting them in the three air vents on the dash.

Not for me. This is a street car complete with heat and air conditioning! I am already blocking one of the vents, and that is all I will do!
