Default Does anyone have a running ST80 setup or will I be the first?

Curious if anyone has an ST80 up and running on ls1tech yet. I ordered one up yesterday and will hopefully have on the car in less than 3 weeks.

Went with the 1.00 A/R housing. I'm curious if i'm going to be able to spool it without any tricks. My .96 a/r t76 came on really fast for a rear mount setup and was difficult to drive due to how hard it hit.

I'm going to the new turbo because the turbine wheel came apart in my innovative turbo again (3rd time). Jose mentioned that people at higher altitudes have had similar issues when pushing turbos hard from over speeding them i guess. Dunno maybe he'll chime in and clearify. Looking back every time this turbine wheel has come apart on me it's been over 15psi (been running 18-20 recently) and worked forever when kept below that level.

I need to know the correct inlet size on the ST80 as well so I can order the correct coupler for my intake pipe.

I have a ST80 slated for the 348ci engine in my new shop car. I am a ways out from It being on the road. I made alot of changes to the car to make it more street freindly. No spool in the rear. 4L80E trans for the OD. No radical cam grinds. Stock PCM for now.

Gonna be my nice weather high horse power street car.

Are there maps for those turbos around? I'm looking at something in the 76-80 range for my new setup (still STS). I have a forged 408 ready to go in. I don't want ridiculous amounts of power, just 6-10 psi. Maybe the option to go up to 15. A 76 is kinda on the edge for a 408 i think.

inlet size is 5" or 5+ - not sure
discharge is 3.5" - for sure
dp is 3.5" - not sure

dont quote me on those numbers...

i have the race cover so im not sure if some of the numbers are different. drturbo should be able to chime in..

u do realize there might be some fabbing.. the unit is physically bigger. compareed to my ITS GT80R..it was nite and day.

the T4 flange itself is a bigger diameter...and since it is physcially bigger you might have to hack stuff ... but i dont know how the rest of your piping is.

Do you need a dual ball bearing CHRA and a bunch of housings for an r-trim turbine wheel lol

Thanks for the pic, that's a great example of my old turbo vs what the new one will look like. The discharge on the ST80 is for a 4" coupler right?

Got any other angles, maybe top side by side and a turbine side by side.

i hate this pic cause if you look at them..one would think..wow they are close to the same size. but in reality they arent even close. the most physical evidence is the inlet size comparison.

i think i have more pics but they are on the comp downstairs..and im in bed watching bleach. i know ... TMI. lol
