Rev Limiter? What do you use?
Since the factory rev limiter cuts fuel and not spark it would be very dangerous on a F/I car to hit the factory limiter. I was thinking about getting the MSD 6LS if I dont have to buy the harness they sell to use it & I like that it has a built in 2 step. What are you guys using? Did a search and couldnt find anything.

I understand what he's saying. If it completely cuts fuel which i'm pretty sure it does then if there's no fuel there's no explosion and no explosion = no detonation.
Makes sense because otherwise wouldn't there be tons of FI guys blowing ringlands, bending rods blowing head gaskets after a few rev limiter bounces?
I think the main reason it's bad on a s/c motor is because the sudden and fast fluctuation of rpm's has gotta be bad on the blower.

Generally speaking a fuel cut should be safe for a rev limiter. Unless you are a numpty and continually hold the car on the limiter.
If you have hit the limiter, you have stopped accelerating....so you should never hit the limiter if trying to go fast

Mine comes up on the rev limiter so fast that if you're not careful it is VERY easy to hit it. Car is still pulling, doesn't sound like it's RPM'd out at all. Sounds like it could rev much higher. I have mine set at 6500rpm's.

I have mine set at 7350 now
Although used to be a little closer to 7000. I dont think Ive ever hit it, apart from on a missed 3-4 shift once.
it seems to take forever to get to it !!

I use an ignition cut. Whilst a fuel cut should be safe...I still wouldnt use one if possible lol. That said. Ive was away racing yesterday, and never once did I hit my rev limiter....even if it is now at 7350..
Seems to rev cleanly to around 7100 though
