Default Got a turbo M6, I want a choppy cam

Without going into too much detail, I have an 02' WS6. Built bottom end, M6, 9" rear-end, full race suspension, and an STS Turbo. Sitting at 16 lbs of boost with a little meth. I'm having a spun bearing issue fixed right now and I figured now is the time to do a cam swap. I want a nice choppy sounding cam. This is my daily driver, so drivability is a factor. Any recommendations...? Thanks guys..

Choppy usually means higher overlap and/or tighter LSA which are not usually recommended for turbos. What's in there now, and what kind of power are you getting? Do you only want a different sound or do you have other goals?

Allot more info needed!

Best bet it to call up a knowledgeable sponsor and have one spec'd out for your combo and needs.

I have EPP's forced induction cam... its a 232 /240, 595 / 608 on a 115.
It has a pretty good "muscle car" sound to it in a stock cube motor.
And it has great drive-ability, idles right about 8-900 rpm, and can cruise @ 45mph in 5th gear with out a problem.

I'm running a procharger, not sure if that would have any difference with running a turbo or not...
You need to have good valve springs though.

Bob and Jake both said that it would be tough to pass a sniffer test. So if your state has one, might want to think about something else.

Thanks...

I agree^ I researched this awhile back and the best I could find was EPP's cam. I would've bought one but don't have the money right now.

Thanks for all of the info guys. Yeah, Texas has a pretty strict emissions law, and this is my daily driver. I just wanted a little more sound. My C5 chopps it's *** off, and I wanted the same from the TA. But, I know now that the turbo also acts like a natural muffler, and may change the way a cam sounds.... Oh well.

Charlie, what ya doing now, Gone turbo eh, well mine finally went into the shop this past weekend for my turbo, Pulled off the supercharger. But anyway to your question, Narrow lobe separation = choppy idle but is not turbo friendly. You could get a cam with more duration and have the wide Lobes that a Turbo likes and have that choppy idle, but not sure of your combo, Oh and no it will not chop like that vette

It really should be called our forced induction camshaft. The first engine we ever put it into was this twin turbo Z06 years ago. http://video.google.com/url?docid=30...HCAO9kkY_gce6w
