STS kit, Oil all over engine bay!
I just took out the car and made a fwe hard pulls. Then, smoke was pouring out of the hood. Open hood and oil everywhere! The oil is shooting out the return line that connects to the oil fil cap. Is there a way to fix this permately, thanks for the help.

make sure you have the pcv valve switch working right you can test it by feeling the switch and then jumping the wire on the psi switch from one side to the other, you should feel it click. and you may be able to here it to. i just got my kit installed and have had no issues with oil at all. im not saying thats your prob. but its a start.

We had the same problem on this Camaro with the STS kit, we rerouted the return line to the oil pan. You can see how we did it here. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=32 Bob

were is it coming from the inside of the quick connector or were the hose hooks up? if it is coming from were the hose hooks up just put a hose clamp on it. if not go buy a new line connector.

yeah, the pcv switch clicks when hit with 12v. Do you guys have the check ball or valve( looks like a little bullet) placce in the vaccum line after the OEM pcv before entering the lower throttle body? It didn't have this when I bought the car, I put it in and I wonder if its causing the problem? My engine was covered in oil, so was the inner hood, **** was everywhere! I believe the check ball has something to do with crank case pressure. Thanks for the help

My $0.02. Run a vented catch can vs the pressure switch(they're prone to fail). Zip tie the oil cap to the valve cover. It will sometimes leak from there as the return line itself pulls on the cap. And, like others said, consider tapping the pan/valvecover for a permanent return line.

yeah, I'm ready too tap. If the PVC is hooked up wrong, will it make the oil presure vent through the oil cap? I just re-routed the hoses, I wonder if I hooked them up backwards. It didn't do this before I reroute all the hoses to the PCV switch. Also, the car has a very bad miss now. tends to go away after 5-10 mins, of driving. I have the valve cover vent going too the single port on the switch and the throttlebody vent goiny to the lower port on the dual side with a filter on the top port. I also ran 12v too switch and it does "click" Thanks for the help.

if the PVC is working correctly, just zip tie the cap down. I had the same issue with pressurizing the crank case on my stock engine and it pushing the oil cap loose during a pull and spraying oil everywhere. The zip ties fixed the issue until I went to a built engine with total seal rings.

i dont have a check ball in mine not sure were you would put that. take it out and try again. or just tap it i dont have any prob with mine but i think i will tap it to the valve cover soon. it just would look nicer i think.

I had the same problem with oil all over the engine bay. I tapped the pan and ordered a vacuum pump. www.gzmotorsports.com

Did more research and found that the oil crank case pressure was so high it also got in the intake piping and soaked the MAF sensor. Know wonder the car won"t hardly run. I talked too chris at STS. I have everthing hooked up correctly. I'm going to ditch that $35 check ball and see what happens. LOL
