Default which block for big turbo power.

was looking originally at the 6.0L block w/ truck heads done by WCCH.

buddy last night got me into thinking about an LS2 or LS3 setup.

cubes around 370 was going to keep the stock crank for the iron and ls2 blocks.

the LS3 however at 6.2L will it be weaker? with thinner cylinder walls from the bigger bore?

looking at making over 1,000 when set to kill...750ish on pump gas.

the iron seems hard to beat, but I want this car in the 8's....is the extra weight really that big of a problem?

LSX iron, nothing better for BIG turbo power. 6 bolt heads too.

Not when you can make the additional power needed with the iron block to go that extra .10 of a second.

LSX isn't a choice here....little out of the price range and the reason it wasn't mentioned.

6.0 iron truck block should do the trick. Stock crank as well. Actuall the LS2 aluminum block will wok as well. KP uses this block and runs eights! Pick your poison!

thats the problem hunter lol both seem to be good blocks that can definitely make the power.

think I'm going with the 6.0L iron block.

hell yeah, why not. 700$ for a bare block.
Are you buying a shortblock? or block and rotating assembly?

still window shopping, when I become more serious on this I'll give quite a few sponsors a call, but I have a local engine builder in mind who has quite a few lsx cars under his belt. most of the guys are members here. all are bottom 9's and high 8's.

short answer: don't know yet. may get a pull out motor as well.

317 truck heads most likely...they can make some big power.

hmm... someone else brought this up... this is sorta hi-jacking, sorry for getting side tracked.

What are your major differences (when running a boost motor), in a 370 ci motor to like a 408 motor?
