Default supercharger swap

Hey I am thinking about buying a V6 T/A. Anyone know if the S/C from a GTP can be swapped into one? Please let me know. Thanks

It can be done, but it isn't easy. I'd recommend heading over to ClubGP and doing some searches over there. I know it has been done a few times over the years with varying degrees of success.

Why would you take the turbo off of a V6 TA and put a blower on it? (they only made V6 Ta's in 1989 known as a TTA)

Unless your talking about a firebird V6, and the grand prix blower is not an easy swap to a f-car.

That's what I thought he meant was an L36 4th gen, Slow. Probably have better luck and results doing a turbo kit.

I had a lightly modded GTP for about 4 years, was a fun car up until 60 or once past 80.

Might run into space issues with the cowl still since you should run an intercooler on that. An M90 even on a stock L67 turns into a heat pump at the top end and we were always fighting knock when upping the boost.

You'd need at least the following items:
L67 Heads (Pair)
L67 Fuel Rails
L67 Fuel Injectors
L67 Pulleys (2 idlers and one crank)
L67 Supercharger and throttle body
Boost bypass
L67 MAP sensor and MAP sensor bracket
L67 Lower Intake Manifold
L67 Valve Covers (pair)
L67 Coil Bracket
Vacuum lines and gaskets and a few other random bits.

AND last but not least a way to face the throttle body away from the firewall.

If you're going to go through the trouble of putting a positive displacement blower up there you should find a twin screw. I know a few of those have gone on and made better power than the Eaton at the same boost on the L67 motors. Course you'd have more work on your hands to keep the motor alive and dealing with the custom work needed to make it work right.

Not sure if I can post a link to a W-Body website... I don't know if any of our sponsers are selling a supercharger kit for the V6 f-body or not...

Anyway the W Body Store has blower kits available. There is a kit to add an M90 to the L36 which is surprisingly cheap considering what it comes with...

Maybe I should stop modding the TA and go back to beefing up the wife's GTP. They also have a Whipple kit that is a fair bit more expensive and I think you'll still be looking for a fix to the TB in the firewall. I also hear it has some issues to be over come to make it run right.

It’s a start

No problem, good luck which ever way you go. Personally I always thought the V6 F-Bodies should have got the L67 from the start. Would have been a heck of a lot more fun.
