How much boost are you guys running on stock short block w/6.0 heads?
I wanted to know how much boost you guys are running on stock short block with the 317 heads? I am planning on getting them soon and was hoping to run 10-12psi. 5psi will be my dd setting but I want to up it at the track and incounters on the street. Also what is the compression after the swap? I plan on porting the heads slightly as well. I am hoping for at least 550rwhp, is this a practical number?

i ran stock shortblock+untouched 6.0 heads+LS6 intake on a front mount setup i have for sale and it ending up making 505+rwhp/550rwtq @ 8psi. But then again i live in Florida and the elevation here makes cars move alot better than other places(and make better numbers in some cases)...In other places you probably will have to run more boost to make up the difference and see nicer numbers. good luck on ur build tho!

When I had a stock shortblock with a small cam and 317 heads I made 660 rwhp and 651 rwtq at 12 psi. It was a ton of fun. Never broke from abuse. And I certainly romped on it ALOT.
Here is the dyno graph but I can't make out the rpm's on it so it annoying.

60lb injectors
stock rails and lines
On a MUSTANG DYNO it put down 587.6 rwhp and 522.8 rwtq
that was with only 7LBS OF BOOST with a II bar speed density tune.
