What motor oil (weight) to switch to after goin FI??

What motor oil (weight) to switch to after goin FI?? How many people switched weight of motor oils after going FI? After seeing a few posts from Patman I decided to go with Penzoil Platinum. I am here in colorado where it usually doesnt get too hot ,but i will never drive it unless its at least 60 degrees and very nice out. I was thinking of going with 5w-30 but when i did a search ( i know the subjects *** has been kicked around), it seemed like a few guys went with oil a bit thicker. Is that because it runs so much hotter with the supercharger? I was maybe thinking with going with PP 5w-40? PS This is more of a weekend warrior, not a pure strip car, which it will see a few passed a few times a year. Its an ls1 with headers, tru duals, Pat G custom cam, and a D1 Procharger. Any suggestions please.

IMO any FI setup can benefit from the added insurance of a good synthetic.
I run Redline's 10-30w her in NorCal, dry weather only from 45-110 degrees and a big oil cooler. The current t-trim and the sold s-trim have been happy with that pumping through 'em.

Can anyone tell why I would go to such thick oil?? now is do understand that sum of you guys have the engine built loose, (this why some of you go with the 15 and 20 weights) but i am still on the stock bottom end. The only thing interally thats been changed is the cam. I still have stock rings, pistons, ect.

Na, penzoil, castrol, valvoline, whatever is on sale. I change the oil fairly often so no need for synthetic, IMO synthetic is for those guys that go 10,000 miles between oil changes - other than that its a waste @ 6.00 a quart. I use synth in my TBSS because its what GM recommends and I dont want to hear about it if it blows up under warranty if they send the oil out to be analyzed. Since it has a 100K engine warranty I'm kinda stuck on that one lol.
But I dont want to get into an oil debate on conventional vs synthetic, use what you want to use

I would go with a much heavier weight during the summer. I'm in Texas so I run a 15 to 20w in the summer. Since our winters are mild too...really no need for me to go lower than a 15w. If this is a DD, I would also change the oil much more frequently than you would with a normally aspirated motor especially if you see boost a lot (heavy foot...lol).
