Default Friends car... fuel issue help plss

My friend has been battling a fuel issue for months now.

He has a 2001 ss ls1/t56 swapped rx7

The problem is when he floors it his pressure drops and his car leans out really bad. It will go up to 17:1 if he'd let it..

He has gone through absolutely everything we could think of.

Different injectors/rail all new fuel lines. Different fuel hat double checked all the wires. Put thicker gauge wire on. New fuel filters (using corvette version w/ regulator). Checked voltage at the pump while WOT. He's tried 3 different pumps and socks. Hooking up a mechanical fuel gauge he can see when he floors it that it drops considerably 10psi immediately before he has to let off before it getting dangerous lean. and he is only n/a.

Has basic mods like cam/full exhaust etc. The car has been fine on these mods for a while it just happend out of no where. The car starts and runs fine holds pressure at idle (57/58 or so). All the pumps used are 255 walboros witch obviously is plenty of pump.

Has anyone had this crazy issue? The weird part is the car was perfectly fine for 2 years! So its obviously nothing he has that isnt cutting it. Something is just wrong. He doesnt want to bandaid it by just adding another pump or something he wants it fixed right.

Any ideas? I bet he'd send whoever 20 bucks through paypal if they guess what was wrong with his car.

I am certainly no expert, but a few checks, fuel filter?

Pickup hose? Maybe is sucks air when the fuel sloshes backwards? Do you have baffles?

Pinched line?

Just didn't want you to be completely left hanging.

What kind of regulator? That would be the first I'd replace, since the problem just started.

Regulator has been cheanged, behaves the same as the old one. It is a filter/regulator unit from a c5 vette. The problem has been going on for months now.

Hose feeding out of the pump has a hole maybe.

What kind of bucket set up is in the tank? Maybe running dry, not filling quick enough, bad check valve.

If everything is the same as it was, and all is new, I would think it would have to be on the supply side to the pump, or a voltage drop, which you already checked.

You have to love these fun problems.

If the pressure is dropping, then thats your problem. Now you just need to figure out why. Rig up a manual switch to turn the pump on and bypass the relays. See if that helps. Check your grounds.

Grounds are all good. Already manualy triggered the pump by passing the relays and it still did it. I'll ask him about the bucket set up.

The bucket in the bottom of the tank is only a couple of inches tall. Being that the tank is full, thats not the problem, because the fuel is over the top of the bucket.

Friday bump would like to have the car running by the weekend!

What can cause fuel pressure to drop??

He has went through everything in the fuel system mechanicly from the bucket to the injectors. I tried leaning torwards the alternator or battery but, it turns the damn car over perfectly fine?? He has good solid thick wires for everything.

He said his voltage gauge doesnt move at all when driving...

20$$$$$ someone help! lol
