Default ZR1 fuel pump

any one know anything about the fuel pump(s) used on the new zr1? seems like it would be a good option for a turbo or supercharger car given the typical factor of saftey used by GM but I cant find any information about it

I'd imagine dual in-tank walbro 255 setup would be more effective in the ways of both cost and effectiveness.

yeah ive done dual walbros before, id still rather run a single pump and i dont really trust the quality of the walbros. I would pay good money for a capable, quality, single in tank pump that would support decent power.

it may still be dual pumps also like the cobras run. twins of something like the nippondenso supra(tt supra, around 550hp capable) or bosch 044 should be plenty and very reliable. will be more expensive than the walbro crap but not drastically. i paid 170 for a denso.

The ZR1 uses 2 pumps electronically controlled. We have built/installed several hundred dual Walbro kits and have had ZERO failure its all about the install.

I have never had any troubles with Genuine Walbro fuel pumps. I have only heard of problems with the over seas knock off pumps. That problem can be solved by not buying them on Ebay, and spending a few more $$$ to get them from a reputable source.

the zr1 used an a/c (3 phase) motor with controller.. Its not worth the headach to try and adapt it with so many good and MUCH cheaper aftermarket solutions out there.

there is also a new pump coming to the market that should retail around 150 and flow 325L/H at 40psi and is the same size as a walbor 255. these little pumps should support well above 1200 wheel horse if not closer to 1300-1400. i will keep you guys up todate as i start to use them.

wella walbor 255 flow around 250l/h at 40psi.

i honestly didnt look up the litter to gallon conversion. can i ask why this matters.

Twin 255 support 1000 wheel flowing 250l/h @ 40psi
so
twin 300 should support? 1200? 1300? 1400? flowing 325l/h @ 40psi

Well, seeing how you now are saying it'll take two of these "new" pumps to support the horspower your quoting -- then I'm fine, ONE is not gonna make it and that is how I took your initial reply. But now I realize you were implying the use of two pumps...............something that I am not accustomed to in my business.

wll in the LS f-body world. Dual 255 intank pumps are a huge demand. but after 1000 wheel horse your options are a big insgle external or Nasty Performance new pump tank setup.

so between Lonnie or Nasty Performance should easly be able to get these in a basket and support the 1300-1400 horse. Time will tell. i hope to be getting a couple here in the next month and start posting results.

It's plural from the get go. You must have just misread it.
