Fuel pump power wire, what size should I be using?
I have a conversion using a stock 2004 LQ4(minimal changes so maybe ~20hp more than stock).
I am using an external Airtek e8248 fuel pump. In the next two months, I will be converting this over to a custom tank that uses 2000ish Camaro fuel sending assembly/pump.
Currently, I have the PCM fuel pump power going to a GM relay. I then have 14 gauge power from a junction to the relay and then back to the fuel pump(~14 feet of wire)
Is the 14 gauge wire enough for this setup?
I have been running around town with this setup but have run into some fuel tank issues (new coating peeling and probably a slosh issue) that may have killed the e8248 pump (maybe 400 miles on it)

Any opinion on the gauge of wire?
Since I'm converting from external pump to internal, I need to adjust my wiring a little bit.
Now is the time to pull a new wire if it is needed.

I'd go with a 10awg (if possible or at least 12awg)to minimize voltage lose at the fuel pump, If your considering a kit, Racetronix has the F99 Fuel Pump Wiring Harness w/10awg for about $60, it's for a 99-02 fuel tanks.

The Racetronics kit is a bit "more" than I was looking for... it appears to double up the wiring I have. But looks nice.
Price doesn't appear to bad considering so far I've only found a 10 gauge gray wire in a 100' roll for ~$30
It doesn't appear to address the interior wiring of the fuel pump assembly. Is doing 10 gauge all the way up to the sending unit but leaving the inside ~16 to 18 gauge an issue? Seems like a bottle neck to me even though it is a short length.

yeah dont sweat it the stock wiring is fine, until you go to some crazy big fuel pump i wouldnt sweat it at all, worst case scenario your car bursts into flames and insurance money buys you a new one
