Default gas guage stuck at full

title pretty says it all. I am considering replacing the unit (pump, sender, etc), but is it possible that it could be something besides the sender or float?

I figured but any chance it could be something besides the sending unit or floater?

gauge could be faulty but its unlikely... prob pump float assy... cut access hole or drop tank.. whichever you prefer..

Thanks for the reply, and I'm familiar with the cutting the access hole method for accessing the fuel pump. I guess I am wondering if there any to diagnose this to find whether its the gauge or sender/float. If not, I guess I will be replacing the assembly (not much more than just the sender and float).

nope.. sender, float, and gauge are pretty much the system.. smacking the bottom of the tank may give you some insight, it can tell you if you have a bad ground... dont bet on it though...
