Question Fuel Pump Help!!

I changedout my fuel pump assembly last night and everything was good. I came out this morning and the car won't start. I pulled the assembly out of the tank and the fuel gauge works if I lift up the float but I have no voltage to the 2 wire to the pump, the pump is not working. The fuse under the hood is good and I switched the relay in the fuse box and still no go. Please help me lol.

OK so I put the old assembly back in and it is running again. I'm wondering what happened in the middle of the night...Gremlins.. it must be! I still need a pump for the other assembly. Is it possible that I got an assembly for a 99+ and burnt out the pump? Is there a physical difference between the two pump assemblies? and.......................
who here sells a pump that i can install into it for a reasonable price. I see AC Delco pumps for anywhere from $50 to $100. I could live with a simple stock pump this is my DD. I really don't want to drop $200 on a pump and then another $50 on a wiring harness. Do we have anything like that here? I looked at 2 Vendors here and that is what I saw.

Check your connection behind the rear seat, under the car. You likely have a bad connection here.

99up assemblies are plastic & totally different from the 98 kit.

You can get a Racetronix replacement pump for the 98 for under $110.

Let me know if interested.

I will check the pump tomorrow. Does anyone know the part # for the pump that came in the car from the Factory? Like an ACDelco # for just the pump.

I read a lot of people on here and the other site that the walbro need to have at least 1/4 tank at all time to last. My original that I just finished putting back in the car has 285,000 miles on it. I would like another pump like this lol.

The pump works good I think this gray plug is the problem. Can I buy one of these connectors somewhere and replace it? I can't upload the photo now, I don't know why but the plug is under the round metal plate that holds the pump assembly. It has 4 wires and the gray wire it looks like the plug is melted where this wire goes in.

So I managed to remove the gray plug and clean out the space where the wire inserts and went to NAPA and bought a New End Clip for the wire. I put the female clip ( part # 725189 ) on the wire and put it back into the plug, put electrical grease on all the terminals and installed the pump. It is work again very nicely. I just can't imagine the wire melting the terminal and the plug without an Explosion. lol. Wish I could post some photos and show you what I mean but I don't know if it is the web site or me. When I try to upload a photo the window says waiting for LS1Tech and then about 15 seconds the page just goes white,

You do not get an explosion because there is not enough oxygen in the tank to allow the fuel to burn. A bad connection will generate enough heat to melt the terminal. This is a common problem. After years of use the terminals get deposits on them, creating a bad connection.
