Factory 5.3 fuel pressure regulator with turbo?
Hey Guys, I am planning on building a turbo setup for my regal, I was wondering if anyone was using the factory rail mounted fuel pressure regulator with their turbo setup?
I plan on running a TC78 with a mild cam in the 5.3
Also, is the Bosch 044 a good pump?
Any help will be appreciated.

Speed inc. has some good quality rails for cheap.
Why are you trying to use the stockers?
I know people that have kept the stock rails and regulator, but fueling/tuning was tough b/c it wasn't boost referenced. It limited the amount of power you could make.

I wanted to run the factory truck intake and rails for now and save up for the edelbrock proflo intake.
Has anyone run a turbo on a 5.3 with the truck intake and factory rails/reg without any issues? Im just looking for something to get me by for the next season.

I have ram stock rails, regulator and crossover for a few years now on e85. The stock setup is vacuum referenced, therefor also increases psi with boost. Running 15psi boost puts me around 72-74psi rail pressure. Only mod is an extra supply line welded into the crossover from my second pump.

I'm with turbo regal. I have a truck Intake I wanna run for now and turbo some day. I have 2 different intakes. 1 has the returnless rail and one has the return with the fuel pressure regulator. Which is best for this? Wouldn't returnless be easier to plumb (if I use a corvette filter close to the fuel tank)? Not sure which way to go. Thanks

i have an issue related to this, im not running any "real mods" i just swapped a 4.8 into a 240sx s13 and put in a 340lph fuel pump and it was blasting 80 psi and blew the old stock fps letting it feed fuel to the intake, now i have replaced that with a new one... also changed my fuel pump to a 255lph, i didnt had the time to check the pressure this time but is the stock fps good for a 255? cus' with the 340 it did carbonized my sparks, also car was hessitating at any given throttle but it idles good... also it smelled like gas... badly...
have to have in mind that the guy who deleted the vats and tuned the PCM he made it with a 5.3 configuration and the engine is a 4.8... is it relevant? do i need to change that? and one last thing, for now im not running the O2 yet... do i install those or check something first?
