Default Fuel system 101.....dual intanks, 8an feed, stock return

Edit: Bold items are new items needed. Removed one item (555-110149) since not needed. Thanks

Well, I have to thank Pat (Hellraiser) for his time helping me figure this out. The application is dual 255lph intanks, 8an feed, inline filter, billet rails, 60# motrons, speed inc CAS FPR. Most of the parts are black, since that it what I wanted.

Here is the rundown on prices, part numbers, where to buy:

(2) Walboro GSS340 intank fuel pumps $237.80 New Era Performance
(1) 555-15112 Y-block $ 23.99 Jegs (make sure it is the 3/8 npt yblock)
(1) EAR-916108ERL 3/8 npt male to 8an female fitting $8.50 Summit
(1) 361-983308 8an 90 degree bulkhead $11.99 Jegs

(4) 555-110002 8an hose ends $ 27.96 Jegs
(1) 555-100924 20ft 8an braided hose $ 89.99 Jegs
(1) 132-171043 BG filer 8an $ 61.99 Jegs
(1) CAS-787-8 8an CAS FPR $129.99 Speed Inc
(3) 555-110107 fuel rail hose fitting $ 13.47 Jegs
(1) Nasty Performance billet rails $179.99 Nasty Performance
(1) 555-110525 FP gauge rail end $ 9.99 Jegs
(4) 555-110022 90 rail ends $ 67.96 Jegs
(1) 361-165106 6an to 3/8” tube $ 9.99 Jegs
(1) 555-110222 8an to 6an reducer $ 8.99 Jegs
(1) 555-110313 8an flare cap for FPR $ 5.99 Jegs
(1) Motron 60# injectors- 8qty. $420.00 Speed Inc.

Grand total minus shipping: Approx $1,300.00

I'm sure the fittings can be had from a sponsor but Jegs was used as a reference for part numbers. I hope this little bit of effort will come in handy for future buildups, granted people use the search function (I tried with no luck). Also, some of these parts could be swapped out for alternates like the fuel filter, FPR, etc. To each his own. This is a good foundation.

Andy

Pics would be helpful! I'm assuming you're going in series with the rails as opposed to parallel? Im intersted in seeing how the regulator is situated under the hood.

Well, Summit sponsors us so it shouldn't be that hard for me to get the info. I'll snag it and post it up.

Oh yeah. I noticed that too. You would need a Y-Block to feed both rails also. Not too big of a deal, but will cost more due to needing another line or 2 w/fittings.

Nice Research. I sent ya a PM to see about helping you out some on this.

He is running it the same way I did. One line up to the passenger rail, then cross over to the drivers side, then out to the FPR that sits on top of the stock feed line which is the new return. This is also the same setp that MightyMouse used.

I posted this online for everyone to help them when piecing together a fuel system. We're working on a schematic of the system.

Here are a few pics showing the general idea of how everything is routed, NOTE: some parts used in Kyle's setup differ from Pat's setup...

Pat's setup:

Kyle's old setup:

Hope this helps a little

Nice write-up. My list is the same except I have two external pumps and a sheetmetal gas tank.

Or purchase the complete kit from one place. We have the same complete kit all extremely high quality components Walbro pumps, Nasty Rails Aeroquip hose and fittings,Fuelab regulator and filter...one stop one shipping charge. I only rec adding the dual intanks to the steel 98 tanks as the plastic bucket poses alot of issues.

Complete Kit $1000
Add 60# inj $420

I already have the injectors and pumps. What would the price be then? I also wanted all black fittings and the silver rails. Let me know. Thanks

You also forgot a bulkhead fitting and nut out of the tank.

Damn. Now THAT's a Good price there. All Aeroquip lines and fittings substituted for parts listed above, would make the kit well over $1400. Maybe into the $1500-1550 range.

Nice pricing Nate.

But, this break down is great for the DIY or someone that has to piece this together slowly due to cost constraints. I would recommend getting your kit since I've never heard of an issue with your fuel systems.

Yes, the pumps and yblock are in the fuel tank. Then the 90 degree fitting comes out of the tank and attaches to a -8an hose which plugs into the filter. Filter output to rails as shown in your pic. The rest of the setup is self explanatory. The hose ends are for where the -8an hose plugs into the filter, FPR, and rails. Everything was listed in order from the tank to the return line.

In the tank:
(2) Walboro GSS340 intank fuel pumps $237.80 New Era Performance
(1) 555-15112 Y-block $ 23.99 Jegs (make sure it is the 3/8 npt yblock)
Leaving the tank:
(1) EAR-916108ERL 3/8 npt male to 8an female fitting $8.50 Summit
(1) 361-983308 8an 90 degree bulkhead $11.99 Jegs

(4) 555-110002 8an hose ends $ 27.96 Jegs
(1) 555-100924 20ft 8an braided hose $ 89.99 Jegs
(1) 132-171043 BG filter 8an $ 61.99 Jegs
At fuel rail:
(4) 555-110022 90 rail ends $ 67.96 Jegs
(3) 555-110107 fuel rail hose fitting $ 13.47 Jegs
(1) Nasty Performance billet rails $179.99 Nasty Performance
(1) 555-110525 FP gauge rail end $ 9.99 Jegs
To the FPR:
(1) CAS-787-8 8an CAS FPR $129.99 Speed Inc
FPR to stock feed as a return:
(1) 361-165106 6an to 3/8” tube $ 9.99 Jegs
(1) 555-110222 8an to 6an reducer $ 8.99 Jegs
(1) 555-110313 8an flare cap for FPR $ 5.99 Jegs

Your diagram is right but someone could get confused on the way you did the pumps. I mean if you took the y-block and put it above the pumps it would look clearer to someone.

Here is a diagram that I came up with along with summit part numbers and pricing. The only difference is that Im going with straight -8AN which should be more than enough.
