Default SVO 42#'s and a stock tune...

Well, I plan to run the M4 and CNC ported LS6 heads (already have LS6 intake and full exhaust)... Three friends all made 430-450rwhp on this setup...

I am installing a Racetronix fuel pump kit this weekend and was going to purchase my injectors next...

Right now the car just has:

SLP lid, bellow, ported TB, LS6 intake

Mac-Midlength headers, ORY, 4" Mufflex

NOS 5177 100hp dry shot

I plan on buying SVO 42# injectors for the future setup (plenty of room to grow as I will have the above mentioned heads cam combo, up it to a 125hp dry shot and MIGHT one day convert to E85)... Can I install them now WITHOUT a tune? Would the car even run? Should I just keep them on the shelf untill I do the heads/cam/tune?

Right now it has the stock 28's in it...

Any info appreciated, thanks!

NO, replace them and then you have to modify the IFR table in the PCM so it knows you have bigger injectors. If you dont it will just pulse the 42's the same as the stockers and will have you running like ****, if at all.

If you make 450RW and want to spray 125 DRY you may look into 60s instead of 42s...

Really? And I thought the 42's would be on the large side...

Don't 42 SVO's turn into like 48's on our cars?

You will need a tune for sure.

(projected BHP x .5) / 6.4 = min injector to meet 80% duty cycle
(575 x .5)/6.4 = 44.92

So 42# on 58psi will be at about 80% duty cycle

You just plugged his RWHP into a calculation that uses FWHP...

Frost is right. Sorry about that. I'm not usually one to mislead. Had a brain fart on that one.

60's might be a better choice and you probably won't be able to only run a 125 after you get it installed. They would give you some more space to move up on the spray. 42's would probably be fine for 1/4 mile blasts, just be over 80% duty.

Is you car an A4 or M6?
