Default Will I need injectors?

Here is what I will be running.... CAI, LS6, TR224/224 112LSA cam, ARH long tubes, full exhaust. I am expecting to see just shy of 400rwhp. I was planning on doing a new set of injectors, but when I asked one of the sponsors about it, they said that my stock injectors will be good to go for that amount of power. That didn't seem right to me? Anyone?

well, if you got more planned, just go ahead and go with 42#ers.

I thought the '98's had 28.6 and the others had 26.4....not 100% sure though.

I made the numbers in my sig on stock pump and stock injectors and it was running rich....kinda scary.

With stock inj. I was running at 93% injector duty cycle with just bolt-ons. Put on 36#ers and now the max duty cycle is under 70%.
General rule of thumb that I have read everywhere is if your duty cycle is more than 80-85% then its time for bigger injectors because they can't keep up. I don't think you want to go lean at 6k and burn anything up.

Yeah, I'm just gonna buy a set of 42's. What's another few hundred bucks? Done.

awesome man, you will enjoy the 42#ers. and they are easy to tune in. just change IFR according to the spreadsheet (if you need it i have it) and you may or may not be good to go, i had to adjust my offset just a tad and it worked perfectly

I am going to get the 42#er's but I will not be doing the tuning myself.

If you look at some of the other threads here recently some people have mentioned the Cobra 39lb injectors. I just picked up a set for myself off of a svt performance forum site for $100 shipped and they only had 13k miles on them. Lightning 42lb'ers were hard to find and sell for considerably more. You will need to either fabricate an adapter using injector connector parts from a junk yard, or purchase the adapters from a sponsor of this site Caper electronics for about $8 per injector. Physically the injectors are supposed to drop right in just as the Lightnings do, and once you get the adapter they work like champ, so I'm told. I'm looking into making my own wiring adapters and may do a write-up on that later. I'm currently in Iraq, and sadly there's no shortage of blown up vehicles around here, but I'm not sure they will have the oval or square connectors I'll need to make an adapter from. I would at least look into this option, it was far cheaper than anything else I saw. Best of luck.
