I would go with the Racetronix fuel pump kit. My friend and I made an access panel and installed the pump in 2 hours. I still have to do the wiring of the hot wire loom but they include everything needed to run the kit. They even supply a paper clip for one part.

I was trying to stay under $200 since my father is helping with this. Does it have to be purchased with the harness kit or will just the pump assembly kit work?

You can purchase the pump assembly alone from Thunder Racing for way under $200.00.

I am looking a tit on the TR site and am confused about the differences in the P&P software and not having? Is this just for the wiring or is that included in just the pump kit?

Call them up and ask for a F99-FPA which is the fuel pump assembly only.

That is an alternative if you to wish modify your factory fuel module and disable its functionality to save a few follars. There are negative tradeoffs to this which have been discussed many times on this forum. The factory module is designed to work a certain way for good reason. This is described in our ad and in the GM factory service manual.

We have similar kits which are used for older 'pump on a stick' style senders like the Buick GN, Syclone, Typhoon, 3rd gen Camaro and Mustang for around $99 at regular price.

Curious about racetronix pump for the 98 LS1. How longs this pump last on average? Mines starting to whine pretty often when it gets hot so I think its time to replace it. Also how much is just the whole fuel sending unit? without the wiring harness. Your site doesnt say or show it without the harnesses (or i'm just an idiot and overlooked it) thanks!

Unless your fuel pressure starts to drop much more than normal under WOT don't worry about minor pump whine when it gets hot out. Try to keep your tank fairly full during extreme weather conditions.

Sorry to hijack here, but mine dropped down to ~53 or 54 psi on a WOT pull. Is that acceptable or am I in need of a new pump?

I'd go racetronix plug and play, there's a brand new one in the for sale section for 220 right now
