Default NEED HELP 02 camaro in italy rear end going to #@$%

Hello, I Have a small problem I am stationed in Italy for two more years...
I have a 02 LS1, and my rear end is shot.
it is howling pretty loud,, I need to replace everything pretty much.
I tried to look on summit, to find out what i need to fix this but it was pretty confusing, and i cant get this wrong .. I would like to get the right bearing and seal kit for my car and pretty much every part i would need to change the posi and ring and pinion. I know summit has a kit for all the bearings and seal but which ones.

If any body could post the summit part number of everything i would need to replace/rebuild my rear end. I would very much appreciate it. I need to get this right and i need help. thank you.

i would just buy a new 12 bolt or 9in its not worth putting the money into the 10 bolt
you can find 12 bolts for under 2 grand ...

I would love to switch rear ends, however what ever I do has to weigh 70 pounds or less and be able to go thru USPS. so I am just trying to buy time with the rebuild. I have two years here left.. but I need to rebuild asap.

any and all help would be appreciated.. im not so sure a 9 or 12 bolt would not be so economical to get over here... think I would just like to get all the parts for the stocker and try to fix it.

6 speed or auto, stay with OEM gear ratio(M6-3.42,Auto-2.73/3.23)or go with aftermarket different ratio,auburn-torsen-or eaton posi, replace ALL bearings and seals.

I'd just suck it up for a 12 bolt, overseas shipping can be arranged.

what the hell is wrong with everyone!?!

Everyone recommends a 9" or 12 bolt!

The man just wants a replacement 10 bolt. Jeez!

and if the guy is never going to drag race or anything HE DOES NOT NEED A 9" or 12 bolt!

9"or 12 bolt is gonna add weight and eat up Horsepower and for what?!

The only reason I have a 12 bolt is because I dont wanna break my rearend when I drag race. But 99% of the time, when Im driving my car or road racing, I wish I never had a 12bolt...

Although I see your point, I acknowledge it. But....

You have no clue.....

10 Bolts in these cars are RUBBISH, complete garbage, best only for v6 power.

If he drove an auto car, thats one thing but if he is smoking his rear, its because it was abused either by him or by the previous owner. As for never racing it, just beating on the car can do the same damage.

Unless this guy can build rearends, where the **** in the Italy are you going to take it, maybe to a US Army base with a motorpool and they will know what they are doing. On a upgraded rear he can at least toss it in, or buy a used 10 bolt and have it shipped too.

Being over seas creates a whole nother varible.

rebuilding kit for GM 7.625 10 bolt
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Automatics are either 2.73:1(GU2) or 3.23:1(GU5),you didn't say if you want to retain the existing ratio or change it.

I made some 12 second passes, many 8.0 flat 1/8 mile passes, road raced a whole day and have taken my car up to 160mph, with this so called rubbish 10 bolt..

The guy is in Italy, I doubt he has long stratches of highway and wide streets to even drive like we can here in the USA...

He will be fine with a stock replacement 10 bolt..

Its gonna be easier for them to install an OEM 10 bolt, than a modified aftermarket rear...AT least thats what id think...

I dont think that USPS will be able to get a rearend housing shipped over wherever he is for a reasonable price, and I dunno if the housing is under 70 lbs as stated.

I agree, with give him what he is asking for. Few suggestions tossed out for otehr bigger stronger options, but for whatever reason that is not what he wants right now. So help the man get the info he is sasking for in my opinion.
