Default Peace of Mind: 9 inch?

Well I decided that I want to put a rear end in my car, after my h/c installi should be around 440hp which is death to a 10 bolt in a M6. So i've decided I want to get a 9 inch, my question is this, should i build one or just buy one outright? Building one seems about 500-600 bucks cheaper, may not be as strong but I wont be pushing more than 600hp with nitrous. So should I build one or just spend the 2400 out right and buy one new?

If you're on a budget, get the moser housing/axle package from EPP and piece your own third member together.....will be plenty strong for that power level.

Just installed my 9 from Bob at EPP and could not be happier. If you are a m6 car then get the PST 3.5 shaft also. Good Luck!

It could be a bit cheaper to build it yourself but look at your total cost. You may need Asjustable LCAs, Panhard bar, Torque arm, driveshaft ect.

I went with Midwest Chassis, Eric gives killer discounts on his parts and also on things like driveshafts when you order his fabbed 9", and his rear also includeds a torque arm.

Just depends on what you want to do. Either EPP or Midwest chassis will give you great service though.

Hey why is that fancy new M9 setup cheaper than the standard Moser 9'' setup?

It isn't, the basic package does not include the center section. The center section is one of the options. I should redo it to where it comes standard with the Truetrac, then offer locker and spool upgrades. Actually a spool is less money, but if I start it with a spool, some people may not catch that and order it from my website with a spool when they don't want a spool. Bob

Calling the "center section" one of the options just sounds wierd. Maybe it should just mention that it is just not included.

Kind of like posting the price for a new car, but the steering wheel is optional.
