Default ta cover

I just recently purchased a used lingenfelter ta cover for my 10 bolt and it is missing some bolts. Primarily the longer ones that go towards the top, since I don't have either of the 2 I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how long and the type of thread they were? I already wrote to lingenfelter just seeing if I can get a quick response here-thanks.

I'm seeing the following rear cover bolt specs for a 98-02 axle without traction control:

5/16-18x7/8" = short GM p/n 563592 (also #10006936 obsolete?)
5/16-18x1 7/16" = long GM p/n 458985

I'm guessing that is on the stock cover?

ahhh, yeah you're right. The TA covers are thicker aren't they. I can't find any more info on bolts. I'll be pulling my TA cover in a few days to reseal it and will measure the length of both bolt sizes. If you find this info before I do, please post it here. Thanks!

Not sure if you still need this info, but I'm using a Summit rear end cover which is almost identical to a TA cover. It's 1/2" thick at the bolt flange. The 2 long bolts are 1 1/2" and the rest are 1 1/4". The 2 long bolts are using lock washers.

Thanks guys, I already put it on and took off the clips, so I used a bunch of short ones, if/when I go back in I know what they are now.
HAVATAMPA I just finished putting that damn thing in at 7pm last night so close.

Curious, what are you using to seal it with? I hope you have better luck with leaks than I do. I've used a dry gasket, I've used no gasket wirh silicone, I've used a gasket and silicone. Always starts leaking at the bottom even after retorqueing several times. This time I'm going straight copper sealant and no gasket.

There is a product called "The Right Stuff" within 5 minutes of applying it to the girdle it has to be put on. Luckily when the old cover came off the old gasket came off w/ it, so cleaning did not take that long. No leaks yet and after fridays installation I took her to the track on Saturday and abused it about 10 times and still good.

Actually, that's what I ended up using too. The copper stuff I was going to use was meant to be used with a gasket and I didn't want to go that route again. Time will tell I guess.
