Default Stock torque arm Moser 9"

So I've seen plenty of posts with people using 9" rearends and stock torque arms...so what is my problem?

Here are some pictures. Both lower control arms are on the rearend, but there is no way the torque arm is going to work. It's like it is too long.

(Yes, I know the torque arm is on the wrong side of the mount..lol..but it is impossible to get both LCAs bolted in with the torque arm bolted in. I can get one LCA in, the torque arm on, but the other LCA is way off...so the T/A is too long)

Do you have the LCAs adjusted to where you want them to be when the car is on the ground? Is the torque arm all the way into the tranny mount?

Past that I'm not really sure, I ran a stock torque arm on my 9'' for a long time.

I know this is simple stuff, but make sure the torque arm is all the way in the mount. Also, are the jack stands supporting the frame or the rear end?

It is all the way in, and the stands are supporting the frame.

Unbolt LCA, bolt up tq arm to rear end, bolt in 1 LCA, use ratchet strap to pull rear end to line up other LCA bolt = problem solved? Maybe but worth a try

Jacks should be under the rear end. That may be the solution.

Someone who broke their 10 bolt and didn't want to waste money rebuilding the damn thing.

That'll be your business when you start funding mods for my car.

Amen to that!

I still have my stock T/A with my 9". It was tight for me too. I attached the t/a first then put the LCA's in last. I had to give the rear a good push in a forward direction to get the LCA bolt holes to line up. Now my t/a sits farther into the mount than it did with the 10bolt. Good luck!

Think what you want. I shared my opinion and if you got insulted, so be it.

The Moser nine inch will require an aftermarket torque arm for proper installation. The twelve bolt works with the stock torque arm, but not the nine inch.

Well, obviously you're lying. haha

Tomorrow I'm going to loosen the front of the torque arm and try to push it forward...maybe it did pull out or something.

I'm running the stock torque arm on mine as well. I've had it on and off many times, I haven't had any problems.

That's how I got mine on. FWIW, I'm pretty sure Matt at Moser will tell you it won't fit, but as you can see at least a few of us have gotten it on there.

I know another guy in my area doing it. His ride is a stroker/turbo car.

While I know there are many out there that have made it work. It is recommended to use an aftermarket adjustable torque arm. Obviously the OP is having troubles and this might be his best plan of attack. My goal is to not to start an argument, but to assist the OP with his particluar issue.
