The 4th gen 10 bolt rear is waay to small for the power these cars possess. As a result, anything and everything can break on these rears. If you beef up one item, the next weakest link breaks. If your car is an automatic, you stand a better chance of the rear holding up. If you have a six speed, I recommend joining Triple AAA. Bob

The housing twists..That eats up bearings, axles everything. I bought a brace kit to help, and was going to weld up the tubes, New everything.. Then I was like wow Im waisting money, I got smart and bought a new rearend..End of story...

i found a rear end cover that says that it will lower the opp. temp, increase the fluid add additional strenth, and preloads the bearing caps. i have no clue what that means but if it would help to same some of the rear end i may be game for getting it. can someone explane that to me? tell me there thought on anything that bay be worth it info would be helpfull

The cheapest and best way to go in my opinion is with this rear.

Nothing will really help to do much to keep the little 10 bolt alive, it is just too small for the horsepower these cars produce, especially with a manual transmission. Bob

I thought a spool means turns in general are harder (especially at a low speed tight turns, like in a parking lot) because it wouldn't allow the outer wheel spin faster than the inner?

Maybe I'm just confused.

Yes thats true, its becomes harder to turn but the more you drive one it gets easyer, they tend to "push" the front tires. Iv road in a few and its not too bad, just turn like youve got a 50ft trailer behind ya!!

save you cash an dont spend 2500 or 3k for a rear when you can do one for around 1500$ moser axle an housing kit 1k,then go to your junk yard and pull a ford 9" 3rd member..slap gear set in with new bearings an a spool an call it a day...

Yeah but that is not a **** as a MWC rear end!!! I cant wait to get My MWC rear hopefully Ill be getting a phone call from Eric in about 3 weeks saying its ready. You get a lot more than just a rear for Eric rear end. You get torque arm, and ebrake brackets and brack line clips the only true bolt on f body rear in my opion. Last time i check the moser axle housing doesnt come with any of that stuff.

what dose spool mean? i dont understand why that would make slow cornering harder. this is a daily driver for me and i want the car to still be fun on long trips say form MN out to ND or SD up in the mountons and what not

a spool keeps your axels spinning at the same rate constant..so there for it dont alow the inner wheel to slow down when you are turning.
