Default 3.90's or 4.10's

I'm considering a gear change for my 02 TA M6 (Non-DD) and I'm curious what opinions you all have on which gears I should go with...3.90's or 4.10's? Stock 10 bolt fyi. I will not be drag racing the car, stricktly around town cruiser.

I heard the 3.90's are a lil stronger than the 4:10's. with almost the same performance, better gas mileage.

You gonna change your tire size in the rear?

I have 4.10 and first gear is way to short. Ima swap to 3.90's soon

Nope. Keeping 275/40/17 all around.

Street car, 6 speed id say run 3.90's

I think most ppl dont get these bc they are unfamiliar with this ratio, unlike the 3.73 and 4.10's

You would be best suited for the 3.90.

I run 3.89's, pretty close to 3.90's and they are just rigjt for my power level.

I went with the 3.90's and am glad I made that decision. Makes driving on the streets more fun however it doesn't kill gas mileage and I still have plenty of gear to work with.

There's not that big of difference between 3.90's and 4.10's. About 5%. Roughly 100 RPM difference. If you go with 3.90's go with the Motive and if you decide on 4.10's go with OEM GM Gears.

Ive run both gears and the 4:10 is the best for cruising you can pull out in second gear from a dead stop ,but you will blow the tire off if you decide to play, The 3:90 gear is a good highway gear and not so harsh on the tires ,but a step above the 3:73's. And the 3:90's are a little stonger , because of the pinion size .
