Default Just placed an order today with MWC

I ordered a fab 9 with posi & 4.10s but not the back brace. I needed a new torque arm anyway as my tunnel mount UMI brace got bent by one of the guys in our bodyshop. I am not blaming him, just got tired of scraping stuff with it. Needing a torque arm really made it a no brainer getting the Fab 9 over the S60, not to mention the S60 weighs 75 lb more than a 10 bolt. I decided to go with the trans mount TA this time, ordered a DS loop & PST steel DS. Its gonna feel so good launchin the car as hard as I want without worrying its gonna break. I have put some fairly hard launches on my 10 bolt but its been talkin back to me lately. Now just got to wait it out for about 2 months, hopefully less than that.

A backbrace is a must on a fab rear end. I wouldn't buy one without it.

OP is running 12's (11's w/giggle-juice), so the back brace is beyond overkill...cheaper w/out it, he's more than good to go.

I havent had it to the track since I did the heads, I plan on running 11s with slicks & skinnys eventually.
When I talked to Jason about my mods he said I wouldnt need the back brace & that the rear is good for 650 hp. I figured they were gonna recommend it but they didnt in my case. I racked up more than I intended on this rear & the back brace would add more weight as well. I really dont plan on doing much more to the car.

Sweet. I'm itching to order one. Just trying to save up the coin. I'll more than likely get the back brace. I'd rather get the option while it's being built. I know I'm not breaking any records now, and I hope my current engine combo lasts a long time, but if things on the motor side decide to go and a 408 with some juice goes in I want a rear that will go with my current and any future higher power levels.

You made the right choice. I was sick of being under my car swapping gears and carriers with the 10 bolt. I went 4.11 spooled no back brace. Ive had it in my car for about 2 years now and no-minimal noise with lots of 5k+ clutch dumps on sticky tires. Your car will be a different animal now.

You'll love it! I would be a little worried launching real hard with a trans mount tq arm with a 6 speed though. But all in all you made a good choice with that rear! Its strong, light, and just looks cool as **** lol!

You can't really add the back-brace later so I went with the back-brace on mine simply because you just never know what you might be throwing at it in the future....but I have an idea ;-)

I have seen a few people with 6 speeds break their tail shaft from all the stress the tq arm put on it. But they had a good amount of power.

All of the stress on the torque arm is transfered to the tailshaft of the transmission and this is a LOT of pressure. Boom goes the tailshaft housing and then more money leaves your pocket to fix the transmission.

^^^ Guys, the TA is mounted to the trans crossmember not the tailshaft housing.

Thank you for the order..

About the backbrace, it depends on your combination and what one tells us they are going to do with the vehicle. We ask a lot of questions our self when taking an order to get a customer into what they need. No need on buying something that you do not need unless you want to buy it.

The backbrace can not be added on at a later date, as it is added while it is still in the jig. With a T-56 and 550-600 hp range and above we tend to suggest them. If you are planning on drag racing the vehicle a lot with a good tire then we suggest it even more at that HP range. Remember wheel hop can be just as hard on a rear end if not harder as a solid launch is.

Our long arm and our short arm each come with their own cross member to mount the torque arm to.

I just placed the order so I might add it. I would rather have the short tunnel mount torque arm as it will make my 60 times better but I was dragging & hitting stuff with the UMI setup I had on there.

I went ahead & had MWC add the back brace to mine. Better to have it then not.
