Cool Stock rear end rebuild?

My question; Is it possable to build my stock 10 bolt to hold up to mid 10 second passes? If so, what would I need to do?

I looking for a solution to my piece of crap stock 10 bolt, but I dont really want to spend $2500 right now on a 9".

Thanks guys

You can beef up the ten bolt a little, and it will for work, for a little while. But the determining factor is going to be how you launch the car. Are you an m6 or a4?

that money you use to upgrade the 10 bolt can be used for a new 9 inch. do it right the 1st time. start saving

Honestly, as a M6 guy, I wouldn't dump a dime into a 10 bolt. Save up the money for a 9". Like 608 said ^, do it right the first time. Virtually everybody on this board knows the 10 bolt is a POS, why try to polish a turd? We all know the A4 is more forgiving to it, but with the 10 second slip you're looking for, sticky tires and a bigger stall will still give the 10 bolt more than what it can handle.*

*Disclaimer - Yes, I know there are 10 bolts behind A4s running 10s. Proper setup, technique in launching and tire compound it can be done. I don't need somebody quoting my post saying Johnny Racer ran 10.xx on his 10 bolt. I'm "generally speaking".

Thanks, I figured as much. I have a m6 and the rear end is destroyed. I have used the 9" in the past with great success. I just wasn't sure if there was something out there for 10 bolts I didn't know about. Anything to save a dime, but I need durability too. Thanks

Don't bother with an M6. Save your money and get a real rear

I once tried to budget together a 10 bolt build for my 13 second 87 camaro. Over the course of two years and having it taken apart 3 times to finally get it right, I could have bought a 9 inch.

Just speaking from experience.

DO NOT put any money into the 10 bolt. Save for a reliable aftermarket rear. Good luck!
