Installing MWC fab 9, driveshaft too long?
My buddy bought a MWC 9" set up for his auto 02 T/A. He bought it complete with a driveshaft, It was from someone who bought it and then had to sell the car. When I went to put the driveshaft in bottoms in the trans before I can get it in the yoke of the diff. I compared it to the stock shaft and it appears to be about an inch longer, which is what I seem to see on here when I was searching. I called MWC when he bought it and they said that the shafts from a six speed and auto were the same.I have not yet been able to get a hold of them about this issue, got too late. Gonna try tomorrow.Just fiqure try and get some ideas. Could the 9" have a different yoke compared to other fab 9's? The yoke is longer than the one on the 10 bolt.

My six speed drive shaft I had a hard time getting it in the diff. Yolk bottoms out in the trans and almost has to be pried in the diff. My car is currently apart and will be removing a 1 to 1.5 inches out of the shaft before reinstalling.
Just fo jollies is your friends car lowered any? mine is lowered 2 inches all way around.

When i installed mine i had close to the same problem, it took some gentle massaging and it went in. Im lowered pry 3 almost 4 inches (tucking about 1/4-1/2" of a 28" tire) and have no complaints, everything moves just fine ive never had any ds binding problems

When the car is jacked up and the rear is hanging down there is actually less room for the driveshaft. You need to get the rear into the loaded position. Either jack up the rear end or get the car on the ground, to put the driveshaft in. Bob

Please what ever you do while installing a drive shaft do not force anything and do not use the U-Bolts to pull the u-joints into place either.
