Default 3.73s or 4.10s

I know just a dumb question but i have a 01 Z28 automatic. Level 2 performabuilt with a SS3600 Yank converter. 10 bolt for now. I drive it only on weekends but if i want to take it to the track once a month i want the best gear. What would you do and why? i have 3.42s in there now. i am going to some weld 15 inch wheels too and will be running probably a 255/60R15 Mickey T drag radial.

All the people on here say go with 3.73 if your and auto and 4.10's if you are a m6. Can't give you an exact reason why everyone one thinks those are the best choices but I am sure someone will chime in.

I was running 3.75s and just swapped to 4.11s in mine, was wanting to get better 60 ft.s out of the car, But I am changing to a taller tire for the street, So the increase in RPMS over the 3.75 will not be noticable. I can tell you the 4.10 will not be as friendly on the street when it comes to milage as the 4.10. But the 4.10 will accelerate quicker. gonna depend on what you want to do.
There are a ton of RPM calculators online, here is what I came up for your setup
@ 65 mph with your tire size RPMS will be
3.73s will be 2264
4.10s will be 2489
Your 3.42s are 2076
Hope this helps

4.10s or even 4.30s would be best if you are trying to go all out for the best possible gearing at the track as you want to be right below the rev limiter in 3rd gear crossing the finish line. but those gears will come at a price on the street. it really depends how willing you are to give up the gas mileage.

I have an auto and run 4:10's. These gears are a great gear on the street and the track. However, the 4:10's are not good for the stock 10 bolt. I went through 3 sets with the stock rear end and finally upgraded to a strange with the 4:10 gears.

The gears are good for cruising on highway and I get around 20 MPH with these gears. If you only drive the car on the weekend, then this will be a great gear. See sig for track times. I do drive my car to the track. I hope this helps.
