With an auto, 1.6x seems to be a semi-safe range. Getting into the 1.5x is real iffy, then the 1.4x you seem to playing with fire.

The fastest we have had any of our customers go on a 10 bolt was a mid 1.3 60ft. Now this definitely isn't normal and I generally don't recommend it unless you have a trailer.

Ive made several 1.4 sixty foot passes on a factory 10bolt, but like everyone else has said its not the norm for them to last long under that kind of stress.

Quite a bit 1.6s, couple dozen 1.5s and 2 1.4s, still going strong.

My SS was a consistent 1.48/1.49 60ft every launch on slicks. It lasted for about 2 years and maybe around 300 passes and actually broke on 17-inch drag radials. It was a 4400 stall automatic with 3.73 gears and factory posi.

As Kyle said...bring a trailer. I had a trailer with me so I got super lucky.

A 1.6 at 3600# race weight is a lot different from a 1.6 at 2900# and I'd venture that most of those 1.4s which survived were closer to 2900 than 3600.

I was around 3,675 with me in the car. It's all about tire, transmission, and converter.
