Talking Moser 12 bolt hex drive bolt

So the folks at Moser decided that square drive bolts for the oil fill plug are old and busted (there's a nice 1/2" square drive on the old 10 bolt). The new 12 bolt has a hex drive instead. The guy at Moser said it's a 9/16" hex, but that seems small from what I'm looking at. Instead of going out and buying the wrong tool, can anyone confirm that there's a 9/16" hex for the oil fill??

I used an old bolt I had laying around. Found one that fit in the Moser plug, then I tack welded a nut on the other end of the bolt. I turn the bolt/nut with a regular socket wrench. It sits in my toolbox now.

You could probably do the same thing with the bolt, 2 nuts, and a crescent wrench (instead of welding). Just use one nut as a 'jam' nut, and you can work the Moser plug that way. No need to buy tools.

9/16 bolt ant 2 nuts. Use the inside nut to get the pug out and the outside nut to get the plug in. That's what I do.

Its easier than that....

Go to the hardware store and they sell a very long 9/16 nut. Its used for attaching two cable hooks together so you can tighten a wire. I can't remember the specific name.

Then you just use it and a socket.
