It's pretty stout for what it is. A stock geared truck, even with stock size tires, doesn't want any. Ive even pulled one of the newest 5.3s with the 243 heads from a dig and slow roll. He couldn't pull on me til after 75 mph. However, my truck has always ran strong compared to all the other 99+ 5.3 trucks Ive compared it to.
In the spring/summer/fall, I have squeezed out low-mid 15mpg out of it. BUT, that's driving around 50 mph. It generally gets upper 13s to mid 14s. That's a mix of rural country roads and a tad bit of city.

What size tires do you run now?
I was in the process of adding a suspension lift, so I yanked the rear end and front out and took it the best gear set up guy I know and had him do it while I did the lift. He is a tool maker at GE, and he actually made a special tool at work to make things smoother/easier. It's more aggravating than the rear is.

i run a 275-70-18...so its just over 33 inches. and my dad is a mechanic and can do it no problem. i just dont wanna waste 8 hours of his time tearing apart the whole front end of my truck. the rear is the easy one..i can do that myself.
