Default help with 10 bolt rebuild

So after my torque arm/lca and relo. bracket install my posi with 230k finally took a dump with my drag radials on. I can drive the car but im not going to drive it hard and im putting my street tires back on.

I found a used rear locally for cheap and my buddy is going to rebuild it for me. Im going to go w/ 3.73s since they should compliment my setup well and a full rebuild kit as well as a girdle.

A few things that I am unsure about are what brand gears are usually the quietest, and what is the usual break in period for new gears if there is one?

Thanks.

Buy a good rebuild kit with good torsen bearings. Make 100% certain your axle bearings are oe style and not repair bearings. People say motive and yukon are quitest. Check out mwcs site for break in...do exactly what it says. You need to heat cycle carefully.

Spend the extra $10 and get a solid pinion spacer.

I read that people say that motive blue box (stock replacement) are quietest. The rebuild kit I'm going to use is the ratech complete install kit, I had good luck with that when I had to fix a bad pinion bearing.

Great. I went with the stock replacement motives (blue box) and there is no noise at all. I love the feel of the 3.73s with my converter. Since I added my cam, it feels like a great setup.

How many miles are on the rebuilt rear and about what kind of power are you making?

What axles did you use? Did you get an aftermarket carrier?

Everything is stock besides the gears. It has an auburn posi in it. With me knowing how I drive and having an auto I don't see why it won't last me a while.
