Default The Driveshaft Shop 3.5" Aluminum DS?

Anybody used DSS Driveshafts? I've talked to Frank and was impressed with the operation there. I'm thinking of going with a 3.5" Aluminum shaft setup for my 10-bolt with a 1350 U-Joint and adaptor, so I can run it now in my 10-bolt and then when it explodes, I can remove the adpator and run it as is in a 12-bolt or return to Frank and have it shortened for a 9" or S60.

I just want to make sure the rearend blows up and not the driveshaft. I have an expensive trans and exhaust (and not to mention me) that I'd like to keep scratch free. I am running a BMR DS Loop and it's nearly 4.5" wide at its narrowest, so I think it will work.

I had never head of them. I think most go with the PST which is what I have in a 3.5" aluminum and it did fit my BMR loop easily before I switched over to the MWC one.

They do a lot of work with Vettes, Gen V, and CTS-V. But they make aluminum and carbon fiber driveshafts.

Did you get your driveshaft, How do you like it? I am also looking at the 3.5'' aluminum one.

been awhile since i looked at driveshafts if i remember correctly the driveshaft shop had a really HD shaft rated at like 1000 hp but it was heavier than the inland aluminum only rated at 500 hp aprox same price so i chose the lighter weight. (going from memory) compare shipping weight to verify but i think the HD shaft was like 18 lbs vs maybe 10 lbs.

I cant see our shaft being any heavier, its going to use aluminum ends with a Billet yoke and solid joints.

EDIT2 im stock i checked my ppwk and when i ordered a 3" i was told shipping weight was 13lbs and the shaft was 11lbs so i was given bad info it appears. (from summit)
