Rearend rebuild questions
Hey guys, I'm having my rearend rebuilt under warranty but I have the option to do some mods on my own dime.
If it's worth it should I go for another set of gears? Anything else that you guys suggest?
I want at least 3.73 in there over the stock 3.23.
Also want a ratech solid spacer over the crush sleeve.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
My coverage is taking care of the rebuild I don't know how much is involved with slipping in another set of gears.
Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated.
Thanks!

It was making a clunking whirly sound so brought to dealer I got it from. They said its no good. It's under warranty. I didn't ask what was wrong with it cuz it's covered. I could find out. All I know is it was leaking from the pinion seal and around the bolts of the housing.

I gotta talk to the shop doing the work. I don't think they can do a custom job. I was thinking maybe a gear swap at most. My coverage won't help me out to mod it that much I assume.
I dont think asking to throw on a MWC 9" would go over well haha

So the shop rebuilding my 10 bolt is gathering everything needed to do so. I will be talking to them tomorrow.
Anything I should ask them to do while they are in the process?
Just little things my coverage is only taking care of a rebuild and the shop never contacted me before tryin to gather everything.
I don't think I could of asked them to put a 9" rear on. So the rebuild is fine for now.
But any little thing they could tweak or replace that would help till I get a 9"
Thanks

I'd at least go for the gear swap, and make sure they replace all bearings and seals. Be prepared to buy axle bearings and seals if they get nit-picky on you.
Some other optional items:
ARP ring gear bolts
Carrier studs
Aftermarket axles
Any of these items can have enough concern expressed about them to warrant replacement under warranty. The worst thy can do is say no and make you pay for them.

K thanks guys
They said they will cover a rebuild and optional stuff may be extra I'll see what they are gathering and go from there.
I wish I was in contact directly with the tranny shop but the weekend kinda messed things up.
