Default Best Rear Gear

I'm at the point were it is time to re-gear my car but not sure what ratio to go with. I have a 383 lt1 w/cc503 cam and m6 trans. will be on 28-10.5-15 (strip) and 285-35-19 which equals 27-11.5-19 (street). I am torn between 3.73 and 4.10 if you let me know which you feel would be better and most important why with a valid reason it would be greatly helpful.

4.10 if street/strip car, because there is no reason whatsoever to have a higher gear unless you're somehow out mphing the 4.10.

4.30 even better.. Or 4.56

Still rocking 3.73 with 26 tall tires. Same final ratio as 4.10 with 28 tall tires.

What gear and rear end are you currently running?

Is this a 10 bolt rear still? If so, don't waste ur time or $ and buy Strange S60!

You could also put it on hold and keep an eye out for a used 12-bolt, heck there are some people around here building 8.8's for like $1500. I agree, I wouldn't put money into the 10-bolt if you plan on running more than stock power.

Absolutely nothing wrong with a 12 bolt, whatsoever. At that price id hold out. the strange 60/ 12 bolt comes in right around 2200 USD brand new. I suggest avoiding a differential.

Seeing it's an m6 I'd opt for the s60.
It's not a matter of IF you'll break the stock rear in a clutch car. Only a when, and usually it's sooner than later.
