Quick question about 4.10's
I am getting a t-rex cam this winter probably and i want to throw in 4.10 gears in my stock 10bolt. If i never launch hard, will putting in the 4.10 hurt anything? will they grind out fast?

The 4.10's are a little thinner I believe and are more susceptible to being broken.
There's no way to really predict it... you might never break it or it could go the first time.

If you don't launch it should be fine. Also, I wouldn't bring it up to 6500 RPM constantly.
These 10 bolts are a tricky matter; you never know when they will brake.

As long as the gears are set up CORRECTLY, you should be fine. The 4.10's for a 10 bolt still have some meat on them BTW. I would strongly advise that if you go this route, use full synthetic gear oil, and give them a healthy break in period of minimum 500 miles.

A 4.10 will multiply more torque than say a 3.42, so it will definetly put more stress on the diff and axles. But like said before, if you treat it easy it should be fine.
