Default Will this 12 bolt fit ?

CHEVY 12 bolt rear 4.11 gears posi SSBC disk brakes for 67-69 Camaro. Can i put this 12 bolt rear end onto my 2002 camaro SS M6? Or will this not work at all? or will that 12 bolt need moding?

The Camaro rear end is set-up for leaf springs. You will have to remove the perches and install all of the brackets from your rear. You will also have to fabricate a torque arm mount. The 67-69 Camaro rear is also narrower. Wheels with less back spacing are required.
If the rear that you have has factory disc brakes, it is worth quite a bit of money to the restoration guys.

Good Luck,

Daren

So i take its doable? Is it worth the hastle? about how much am i looking to spend to get the rear end up and running. Or should i just get a rear end such as a strange or moser?

You would probably be better off selling to a restoration guy and buying one made for the car.

Back before you could get a Strange or Moser rear, I know several guys who converted 12-bolts. Unless you can do everything yourself buying a housing is probably going to be cheaper than converting it.

Another vote for selling it. You could probably get enough money by selling it to buy two 12 bolts for the rear of a 4th gen.

What makes you guys think this 12 bolt is worth so much?

I dont own it, i know a guy in town that is selling it. I guess he doesnt know much about it or its not what you guys say it is because he gave me a price of $800 for the 12 bolt.

Is it really worth that much if he is trying to sell it to me for $800?

12 bolts in first Gens were very rare. You can still buy one for a 1st gen from Moser, then you have to buy all the brake hardware to make it a disc brake year end. Minimum cost to duplicate for a guy with 1st gen would probably by $3000 +. For a guy wanting to restore his original 1st gen that came with a 12 bolt, if this is an original one it is gold, probably worth $5000+.

Start out by putting it on Ebay , put a $3000 reserve on it, and see what it gets bid up to.
