Question What rearend are you guys running?

I'm aiming for single digits and just want to have to buy one. I want the strongest one out there. What company do you have? What are your opinions? How durable are they? etc. Any help would be great. Thanks.

You should probably move this to the gear and axle section. Buy a 9-inch Ford from Strange or Moser, with 4.11 and 35 spline.

I'm running Jay's lightweight 9" as well.

All the goodies, narrowed 3" per side, gun drilled 40 spline, etc etc.

dropped 130 lbs going to the 9" w/ Jay's rear sway bar over my 12 bolt w/ BMR drag bar.

I wanna say it was $3500 ish, but i got alot of other stuff at the time. So who knows

We ordered the same one Matt has for a customer of ours. (The billingsley lightweight version)

It should be nice.

could you use this in a daily driver?

I need a rear and I would like to later on down the road put around 700 RWHP juiced of course.

Car I drive to the track and take for long drives.. Would this Jay Billingsley rear be good for me?

TTT for Wyckedcamaro's question. I'm curious as well. If not "Daily driver" material, how much road can it take at once?

Can Billsingey install a locker into his fabbed 9"??? I don't think i wanna go the spool route, as i would still like to keep some sort of driveability, but could care less for ABS, and TCS.....

Are his fabbed 9"'s complete with locker, and able to bolt right up, or are we supposed to do some fabrication to our cars as well??

hopefully Jay chimes in here, but i don't see why a locker could not be used as i don't believe he assembles the third member, just orders it to your intended wants/needs. and a word of advise, i strongly suggest spending the $100 to have it powder coated. you may not intend for your car to be for show, like me, but the last Moser i had was butt ugly to look at after 2 months or so..........just looks like a pile of rust!!!

Dave

btw........spend the extra $500 or so and get the best! Billingsley Fab 9

No doubt, whne i looked at his website, and saw that fabbed 9".....WOW, that is all i can say. That is a beautiful piece of machinery he has there. I will w/o a doubt be going with a fabbed 9"......why not go ahead and get the best when you're doing it!

I would like to see someone take the Billingsley Fabbed housing and install one of Strange's drop out 12 bolt 3rd members. It is supposed to bolt directly in place of a 9" 3rd member, it is available with up to a 40 spline spool, it weighs 8-9 lbs less than a comparable 9", and is supposed to be 3% more effecient at getting the power to the ground. The only 2 drawbacks I see for it is that they only come in aluminum, and they still do not offer anything other than a spool in the 35 or 40 spline option (it can also be had with 33 spline and posi thogh). Someone just needs to come out with a bad *** 35 or 40 spline clutch type posi unit for these. Then you could have your center section with 3.73's and a posi for the street, and another with a spool and steeper gears for the track...

So, the Billingsly 9 is approximately how much lighter than a comporable 12 bolt? Is the 9 a chromeoly housing? What makes it lighter if not?
