Default 3.73 or 4.10 gears...

I'm still undecided if I should go with 4.10 or 3.73. My current mods are in my sig. My planned future mods are a am and a LS6 intake manifold.

What do you guys suggest????

3.73's.. 4.10's are too strong for a 10 bolt from what i hear.. and i heard that a lot of M6 cars have problems because with 4.10's they have to shift right before the end of the 1/4 and it completely kills your time.. shifting right before the end of the 1/4 is almost as bad as shutting your car off before you cross the end.. thats what i've heard atleast.. but what do i know? i have an A4 =)

Yeah, that's actually what I'm afraid of. Since this car is my daily driver, I'm afraid of busting my rear end with the 4.10.

If you have the money buy a 12 bolt and get 410's. It just depends on what you want to do with the car.

4:10's are great up to 450 rwhp. After that your shifting too quick, blowing the tires off and shifting to 5th in the 1/4 mile (if you race).

IMO...4:10's for a street H/C set-up or 3:73's for FI/big shot Nitrous or racing. But if your racing you should really have an Automatic.

My 4:10's are coming out soon because I'm pushing 600+ rwhp and it's ridiculous to drive.

because the fun is over at 110. unless you want to go to 5th gear which is just plain cooking your tranny and dif fluid., but i will say that around town on the streets its quicker, tears the **** out of your rear-end and transmission, but quicker.

all and all, for the difference it gives you, 3.42 are more usable. i think GM made a good descision puttin 3.42's in the 6speed, its the best balance. ill post a video of a 4.10 ls1 vs a 3.42 ls1 and u decide which powerband you like better.

I would put 4.10's in if I were you. I put 3.73 in my 97' SS & ended up swapping to 4.10's. If your going to spend the money to buy gears & to have them put in go with 4.10's.

I don't about the 4.10's but I really like my 3.73's over my 3.42's alot more fun on the street and still cruzes great on the freeway.

i got 4:10s in my stock 10 bolt and i am glad i did it. i got the geuinie gm gears which are the best for the 10 bolt and i have a summit t/a cover. not problems yet. they have about 20+ passes on them at the strip. i hold it at 4500 and feather the clutch out, not dropping it. i pull high 1.7 60'. it has alot of street abuse to. no problems yet.
