Default Looked on EATONS web says nothing about not useing Synthetic lube?

I was just wondering where everyone herd this from I saw it with my Moser instructions to use the dino lube, but I wanted to research all my options etc... I didn't see it anywhere on there web page about no synthetic lube with there HD limited slip "Posi". Any one know where it came from? Thanks.

Eaton uses a carbon fiber clutchs in their posi's but I think Moser's 33 spline units use the older clutch material. Eaton uses a bonding agent to hold the carbon fiber to the disc, when in contact with synthetic lube it just falls apart. I would call Moser tomorow and just double check.

Lets us know what they say. I'd love to be able to run Royal Purple in mine.

I talked to Moser about my 9" full spool and they said dino oil. Why, I dunno. They really couldn't give me a worthwhile answer. Either way I run 1 1/2 qts dino oil, 1qt Lucas additive oil. I figure with that mix I'm safe either way. Quiet either way....decel has a slight whine but its a Moser center section so thats what you get.

Witha spool I know that Icould run the dino, the only reason that I possibly couldn't is because of some kind of material in the clutches of the posi units used that may not be compatible with synthetics etc...

I called the eaton powertrain rep and asked him this very Question last year,he told me
that their posi unit would be much louder with synthetic oil and grabby in corners so did
not recomend useing it.When I pressed him on the issue of better protection he said the testing they did with gm did not show any benifit.

There was yellow card that comes in the posi unit box, that says not to use synthetic. 1BAD86Z knows what he is talking about.
