Default First night at the track with 9"

First time out with my new 9" and DR and it didn't work out like i wanted to. Pulled a 1.7 60' but as soon as i hit 2nd the studs on my right tire snaped the i was 3 weeling in a nice spin and ended up on the wall All in all it wasn't that bad and the damage to the car is minor, oh yea and i am not dead. It had ARP studs in it and i am only running about 360HP so i am not shure why this happened. Any sujestions so this doesn't happen again would be good.

Holy crap man! What the hell? ARP studs snapped? My guess is the lugnuts were not torqued down enough and slight play in the wheel broke the studs.
Sorry to hear about the wreck. That REALLY sucks.

WOW! Glad to hear you're ok and the car doesn't sound too messed up. I would definitely pull the other side wheel off and make sure the studs are seated good or maybe double check the size? Just throwing some thoughts out there. If you do find out the cause be sure to pass it on.

Wow glad your OK, & little damage to the car. I would have to say the wheel wasn't tight as well & it sheered the studs.

I have seen that happen a couple of times before on wheels that were put on way too tight. They weren't ARP studs though.

I have to agree with the loose wheel theory too. That's why I always check the wheel torque every time before heading to the track.

Or maybe, just maybe, the wheel studs were bad. That surely has to happen every once in a while....

are you running spacers in the rear? This could also be a culprit.

Werd. Stay away from spacers. Just get the correct offset. I have a 9' and got the weld draglites.
