Default trying to decide between 3.42 or 3.73 gears to match my ssf 3500

i am going to be getting gears soon, but i want to know what would be better for my car, i currently have 2.73's. the car sometimes sees commuter duty but not much, also i like to cruise it of course. i am looking for recommendations and feedback so i can make a good decision. thanks .

go with the 3.73, the 3.42 would be a waste. I have a tci 3500 with 3.73 the gas milage did not change much at all, and at 70mph I am at 2400, My say 3.73's all the way

if it is mainly a weekend toy, go with 3.73s. If by "cruising" you mean a long weekend trips on the highway, then go with 3.42s. The other advantage of 3.42s is that you will easily hook them up at the track with nittos. With 3.73s you'll be approaching the edge, depending upon track prep and future mods.

i have 3.73s with a 3400 stall thing is badass on the street. it is a little tricky at the track, but i have only had 2 runs with them and they were pretty much just me toying with the launch. still get easily over 21 mpg on the highway

I have a Vig 3200 but it actually true stalls to about 3800. I have 3.42s and down the highway at 70 is around 2200-2300. 80mph is like 2600

Talking

I have a SSF3500 with 3.23 gears and was thinking of going with the 3.73 gears. I run about 2000 RPM at 70 mph. How hard are they to install? Do you need the install kit? My car has only 25K on it.

Go with 3.73's. Overdrive will keep your highway rpm's low.
