Question Has anyone ever broke a 31 spline axle?

Just as it says.. anyone?

Im going to be ordering a 9" soon... my car will most likely make about 580rwhp with a Procharger, and is a M6.

Ive been researching and trying to figure out what size axles... and it seems to me that 31s will work fine for me.. but with the setup Im getting its either 31s or 35s. Now.. the reason Im buying a 9" is so Ill never have to buy another rear end again, which is why Im even contimplating the 35s. Ill occasionally go to the track but to be honest it wont see a LOT of track time.

With all that said.. are 35s just complete overkill... or will 31s be just fine?

If it were me I'd buy one size bigger than what I thought I needed. That way you would never have to worry about breaking them. Especially if they all cost the same.

I have four+ years on my 31 spline axles.

I've been told my soft locker will go first, I guess we will find out unless I get the urge to spray in a spool

You're forgetting to multiply the torque by 1st gear and rear end ratios, and then by two (in the case that all your torque would go at one axle only).
