Best and cheapest is something you'll never hear used in the same sentence when it comes to gears... I have motive 4:10's(they arent they best but they get me by) in my car and am pretty happy with them, they sell install kits also...

If your going to take the time and spend the $$ to build up the rearend, dont go shabby on the gears get a quality gear set like Richmond gear and a rebuild kit form Timken. It may seem like a bit more but better than having to do it twice

i was just looking at some web sites and they sell gear kits for like 450 but they also sell gears and kits by themselves. here is what i was looking at....

http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/inc/...?v=1&pid=32801 this is the whole kit

or here are the gears and the kit set.
http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/inc/...l?v=1&pid=5621
http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/inc/pdetail?v=1&pid=182

now this might not what i go with but i was wondering what the big difference and the best way to go

I bought the Performance US Motive Gears. They are a good gear and pretty close to OEM style....The performance US Motive Gears has a higher nickel content (or so I am told) and this is a good quality.

I say buy some Performance Motive Gears, and then get the RATECH Deluxe Install kit from Thunderracing... it includes everything you need including new Axle bearings. All you need after that is Diff Fluid.....

SLP has a good kit but I would but them directly from SLP. F-Body just drop ships them. You will get them quicker from SLP and they are the same price. 3.73's http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=64070
4.10's http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=64071
