Default broken posi??

put my car on a lift the other day and i started to spin the right rear tire. when im spinning it the left rear tire doesnt move at all and if it does move, it starts to spin like one inch while i spin the right rear like 2 rotations. i got a 2000 camaro ss m6.

ya to me that sounds like its broken. Only one way to be sure is to do a burnout. But I wouldnt recomend that as then it could let go all together. then you have no choice but to replace it. I would just start looking into a 12 bolt or 9 inch. Welcome to the club mines on its way out to, and i have no money to fix it. I could be wrong tho.

You have a Torsen style diff not an Auburn style diff. Therefore your tires will spinn independantly of each other.
While you were doing this i bet your tranny was in nuetral and the driveshaft was spinning. put your tranny in gear (to lock the drive shaft) and spin your tire. The other will spin in the opposite direction at the same speed.

98's had auburn style diffs. So if yours was doing this and it was a 98 then you would be in trouble.

i did a slight burn out there 2 black lines from the tires

no your rear is fine i never thought about what sux2bu said. pluse the burnout proves its fine. I was wrong my falt.

yea thanks sux2bu i just thought it was weird because i did that abotu 4months ago in neutrl and both tires moved then thats why i thought it was broke. when i checked today i seen a damn nail im my tire so that was perfect but my posi is fine thanks
