Default Rearend noise

I just started noticing this noise from the rear of my car. It is like a WHOOMP WHOOMP WHOOMP WHOOMP sound as I drive. Its not really loud but it is annoying as hell. The guy at the stealership told me it sounded like a bearing in the rearend. Possibly an axle bearing. I am planning on pulling that thing apart here in a few day to see what is wrong. Anyone have any suggestions to what it could be and what it may cost to repair this?
Thanks, Brent

Deffinately sounds like an axle bearing. It's better to get it fixed before it tears up your axle and sends metal shavings all through the rearend...
Been there done that!!

how long has this been going on? i drove on mine with a bent axle and worn out bearings for about 10k miles and took it apart when i took it out and still looked good. depends on how hard you drive your car i guess.

I had a axle bearing beginning to pit and it made that pulsing noise. I spent $100 for a RATECH master deluxe ring and pinion install kit from thunderracing. This includes all bearings needed for a rear end rebuild, including axle bearings, which isnt included in many kits. Then I went and had some 3.73's tossed in at the same time. It really isnt that much work to change the gears while doing axle bearings.... you have to get to the same state of disrepair.

$300 I had a fresh rear end.

Mine is doing the same + a whining noise. I went to the dealer and they said it was the rear rotors. Im willing to put ALL other mods asside just to save up for my ford 9". When i take the stock rear out im going to leave it on their door step with a note that says " Thank you for fixing my rear. Now grease this up and SHOVE IT UP YOUR F***ING A$$!

Mine has been doing this since about June when I hit a pot hole and bent the rear wheel. I drove on the bent wheel for a while so I thought the sound was from tire ware. I since got new wheels and tires and the sound is still there. I don't drive real hard very often. Only when I have to if you know what I mean. But my car sees mostly highway mileage and has never had a high RPM clutch dump since I have owned it. I guess the ol 10 bolt really does suck since I don't hit the tracks or anything and this still happened.
