Default Are 4.10s affecting my top end????!

Hey guys, i have some shorty headers, 4.10s, Ram AIR, exhaust and what not *all mods in sig*

I am still running a 14.0, coudl the 4.10s be killin my top end since I have an A4 i would think with the mods i could at least keep up with a stock LS1 but looks like i cant, very sad

with just intake and exhaust i did a 14.0 at 99 so basically after doing Ram Air, chip, new wires/plugs, and 4.10s i run a 14.0 as well?

should i go back to a bigger gear 3.23s or 3.73s? not sure need input

4.10's are for M6's. A4 should have 3.73's.

The way to answer that is by looking at your RPM's when ya go thru the traps. If it's out of your power band then you have too much gear. You wanna be at the peak of your power band when going thru the top end. Doesnt matter what trans you have.
Also your shift points are critical also. Dont wanna go past your shift points during the pass. This will slow ya down too.

Car is most likely topping out 3rd gear with 4.10's in the 1/4

he just said he was ETing the same, but didn't mention his trap speed or 60'.

with a dead hook, sans any other mods, the 410 gears will generate a quicker 60', it is impossible to argue that point. it seems to me that this dude isn't taking into account all of the variables that factor into an ET. also, being that he isn't going "run out of gear" with a near-stock lt1, i would also assume that the 410s would net maybe 1 mph, as well.

i picked up 4 mph with 4.10s over stock 3.23s. mine again is a ls1, but it shouldn't matter.
with the shift points the same and gearing the same you should be like me, 3rd holds out til 110.
something isn't right only running a 14.0, stock lt1s usually do that.

I have 4.10's in my ss and if you bump your rev limiter up some you should be able to trap alittle higher. Try setting your rev limiter to 6000-rpm see if that helps. I have a ls1 and my rev limit is set at aound 6600-rpm so i can trap like 119-mph in 3rd gear.

I know back when I had my A4 LT1 with 3.73 and flowmaster muffler it ran 13.9. I noticed you live in AZ were you running in similar temps.
