I broke everything else, i had Strange Gears, Richmond gears, and Motive gears....all 4.10's....all broke.....but the yukons have been in the longest, and are the quietest.

I've heard good and bad things about every gear brand. I guess I'll be going with Strange gears since they seem to be the overall best according to most of the people I've talked to. I've never heard of Yukon though, where can I get them.

I had Superiors in first, after 2 days, they were whining so loud I couldn't hear music. OEM GM 4.10s went in, and other than a slight whine (that you have to listen for), they've been fine for about 3 weeks now. Don't trust the 10 bolt enough to try to get a good launch on it, but I beat on the gears pretty hard other than that.

I have the SLP 3.73's, not much whine at all, going on 2854 miles on them, so far so good.

Richmond have had a reputation for decades being the noisiest gears by far. OEM GM very quiet, motive and yukon great.

Richmonds are know to be noiser, but i believe it has to do with the way that they are cut, they're cut for alittle extra strength.

How much gear whine there is all depends on if they were setup properly and the first critical 100 miles during break in.
